Vorarephilia, more commonly known as vore, is a sexual desire to be eaten alive or to eat someone else alive. It is a fantasy kink, as it’s not possible to vore someone in the ways that many people fantasize about and desire. Vore is often paired with microphilia and macrophilia, meaning a significant size difference between sexual partners.
Vore has two main forms known as soft vore and hard vore, the former being much more common than the latter. Soft vore refers to vore in which a participant is swallowed whole and unharmed. Hard vore refers to vore which involves chewing, often resulting in major injury or death and often including descriptions of violence and gore. Soft vore is much more common, as it’s usually more appealing for both parties to enjoy the experience and leave unharmed. However, some people pair vorarephilia with a gore fetish and enjoy hard vore.
It’s common for vore to be paired with other fetishes, such as micro/macro and gore, as were mentioned before. Micro/macro is commonly associated with vore because when one party involved is significantly larger than the other, one can be vored much easier, either hard or soft. Vore is also relatively common in the furry community. It’s common for it to be paired with “predators” and “prey” to show dominance and submission.
Along with being eaten, vore also includes being consumed by other orifices, such as anal and vaginal (aka unbirth). Unbirth is often appealing to some because of the concept of being in the womb, it feels safe and comforting.
Vore is commonly based off of a fear kink. Preds enjoy causing their prey to be fearful, and prey enjoy the adrenaline rush. However, some people see vore as a sign of love. The concept of being surrounded by someone you love is enticing to vore enthusiasts, and they see soft vore as an intimate and loving experience.
Because vore isn’t realistically possible, people who are into vore often have to be creative if they want to indulge in their fetish. This is why vore art is fairly common; when people cannot actually experience vore for themselves, they make art of it. People may also do safe orally focused things in real life, such as liking, biting, feeding, or looking into their partner's mouths.
People are interested in live eating in a non sexual way as well. With micro/macro especially, people could fantasize about just being inside someone’s stomach romantically. Alternatively, live eating can be used for gore, with nothing sexual or romantic involved. Though it’s not exactly vore, as vore refers to sexual attraction to live eating, hard and soft vore are used in nonsexual ways as well.
Vorarephila is a very diverse fetish. There are lots of subcategories and specifics that appeal differently to different people, and people have very different reasons to be drawn to vore. Though it’s pretty uncommon, the community of people interested in it is large and diverse. I don’t know how to end essays. Send tweet.
